Worst Congress ever?

Rolling stone magazine has done a wonderful job compiling all the things that are wrong with our current congress into one tidy bit of reading.

If you are a diehard republican who truly believes that G.W. is the anointed lamb of God leading us on a holy crusade against the forces of evil, you probably won't be happy with what you read. Democrats aren't exactly safe here either, but considering the fact that they don't control anything in DC at the moment, their blame is lessened.

I won't repeat the whole article, but here are a few choice tidbits:
  1. This congress has worked even less than the notorious "do nothing" congress of 1948. Some of these days, that they count as having worked, they met for all of 5 minutes for attendance purposes.
  2. Republican committee members literally hid from their democratic counterparts to decide legislation
  3. Republican congressmen issued over 1,000 subpoenas to investigate alleged administration and Democratic misconduct during the Clinton years - for things as trivial as the alleged misuse of his Christmas card list, yet have not issued a single one during the Bush Administration over things such as the Katrina response, false pre-war claims, etc.
If you're interested, read the article. If you're outraged, vote!
